The “Designated-Status Event™” package is a focused filing service for an existing LLP making one settled change to whether a current member is designated.

The package provides the following professional services:

1. Review of the instruction for one designated-status change.
2. Check of the proposed change, effective date and supporting authority supplied.
3. Review of the information provided to identify any connected appointment, cessation or control event that may need separate consideration.
4. Preparation of the applicable Companies House filing to record the designated-status change.
5. Submission through the appropriate filing route.
6. Supply of the completion record following processing.

About the designated-status event filing

Coddan will review the instruction, effective date and authority supplied for one settled change to whether a current LLP member is designated. We will prepare the applicable status filing and submit it through the correct filing route.

The service is intended for a designated-status change where the underlying decision has already been settled. The members must approve that decision and confirm that no connected appointment, cessation or control event has been omitted.

The professional outcome is one designated-status change recorded through the correct filing route, without describing an LLP member as a company director. The service does not appoint or remove a member, determine PSC status, amend governance terms or complete several connected filings. Companies House retains responsibility for deciding whether the filing is accepted.

Coddan will prepare and submit the filing once the instruction, effective date, required authority and supporting information have been supplied and are complete for the agreed service.

The fixed professional fee is £65 + VAT for one designated-status event. No separate Companies House filing fee is recorded for this standard event under the approved schedule. The service is a one-off filing service with no automatic renewal.

The service covers only the designated-status event. If membership itself changes, please compare the Individual Member Event. If the matter involves control or a UK corporate member, consider the PSC or UK Corporate Member Event. Any resulting annual compliance review is handled separately through the LLP annual compliance service.

About the information required for your designated-status event filing

The LLP must provide a clear instruction identifying the current member whose designated status is changing, the proposed change and its effective date, together with confirmation of the underlying authority and the required supporting information.

The members remain responsible for approving the underlying decision and confirming that the information is complete and accurate. They must also confirm whether any connected appointment, cessation or control event has been omitted. If membership itself changes, the separate Individual Member Event may be required. If the matter involves control or a UK corporate member, consider the PSC or UK Corporate Member Event.

This service does not appoint or remove an LLP member, determine PSC status, amend the LLP agreement or governance terms, or cover several connected filings.
