Your partnership name must end with the words 'Limited Partnership', or its abbreviation 'LP'.

For example: ABC Limited Partnership, ABC LP.

These words (Limited Partnership, LP) must not occur in any other place within the name of your partnership.

You can use most symbols present on a standard English keyboard in your partnership name. The following are all acceptable: -

Companies House will also consider less common symbols so long as they can be readily produced on the Certificate of Registration, and entered in their database.

A share capital of a company can be as minimum as one (1) share and as maximum as it’s required for the business of the company. Over the years we have noticed that many customers set their capital to 1000 shares of £1.00 each, with all 1000 shares issued to the subscribing shareholder at the time of incorporation. So if you apply for a company registration with a standard share capital, your company will be registered with a capital of £1000.00 divided into 1000 shares of £1.00 per share, fully paid.

Depending on circumstances of each business, the company can be registered with an alternative capital that can be greater or smaller than the standard capital described in a section above. If you apply for a registration of a company with non-standard share capital, please specify the number of shares and value per share only. This option doesn’t allow you to register company with different classes of shares or different share rights.

A сompany can be registered with different classes of shares, various rights attached to the shares or share classes or different value per share. When applying for the alternative share capital for your company, please make sure that the value per share is not less than £0.01. If you want to register a company with value per share less than £0.01, you will need to apply for company registration via companies house paper forms. Coddan will be happy to assist you with that, however, please contact us in advance for the quote, as additional fee will apply. If you apply for a non-standard capital with different classes of shares, please select the third option below and provide additional information about the rights attached to each class of share you want to create or value per share that you want to use in the relevant section below.
