Starting from the 18th of November 2025, Directors of Limited Companies, Members of Partnerships and Individuals with Significant Control over UK businesses (PSCs) will be mandated by law to verify their identity for Companies House. This new requirement is part of Companies House’s digital transformation process, aimed at creating a more trusted and transparent business environment and also combat fraud.

Companies House has confirmed that requirements for mandatory Identity Verification first announced by the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 will come in force from 18 November 2025.
