Identify the event, establish authority, then file the correct notice
Record an appointment, cessation, designated-status change or people-with-significant-control event through the appropriate LLP decision, evidence and Companies House filing route.
Coddan separates the underlying event from its public notification, checks whether the event creates a second PSC consequence and identifies any identity-verification or professional dependency before submission.
Commercial position: one accepted individual-member event or designated-status event is £65 + VAT. One accepted routine PSC or UK-corporate event is £125 + VAT. Related multi-event work starts from £195 + VAT after assessment. There is currently no Companies House fee for the ordinary electronic event filings covered here; identity verification, overseas evidence and professional work remain separate.
The filing records an event—it does not create an unsupported one
An appointment, retirement, cessation or designated-status change needs an evidenced effective date and the authority required by the LLP’s arrangements and applicable law. A Companies House filing places the notified event on the public register; it does not manufacture consent, determine internal rights or settle a dispute.
The same factual change may require more than one notice. For example, admitting or removing a member may also alter voting rights, rights to surplus assets or management-control rights. A separate PSC, relevant legal entity or other registrable person review may therefore be required.
Identify who is joining, leaving or changing status, the effective date, the authority used and the internal documents affected.
Check minimum membership, designated-member coverage, identity verification and whether control rights produce a separate PSC filing.
Prepare each applicable member, designated-status and PSC notification using the correct particulars and genuine effective date.
One background change may need several distinct notices
The form follows the event and the type of you. The table is a route guide rather than a substitute for checking the effective facts, authority, current form and any connected control change.

Paper filing remains available where permitted, but an LLP within the PROOF protected online filing scheme must use the applicable online route for protected filings. A protected PSC-information case may require the specialist paper form supplied by the Companies House secure registers team.
Individual and corporate appointments are not interchangeable
The LLP supplies the individual’s current required particulars, effective appointment date, designated status and admission authority.
Under the current route, a new individual member must already have verified their identity. Their Companies House personal code and the required verification statement are filing dependencies.
The LLP supplies the corporate or firm name, principal office, registration information or legal form and governing law, designated status and evidence of authority.
A UK corporate member may use the routine route where its existence, authority and control chain are transparent. Overseas, layered or documentary cases require assessment.
Corporate membership does not prove that the body is an RLE, settle ultimate beneficial ownership or determine tax suitability. Those questions depend on the actual rights and ownership chain.
Check the structure after the event
An LLP must have at least two formally appointed designated members. All members may be designated, or particular members may be specified. If there would otherwise be fewer than two designated members, every member is treated as designated under the applicable statutory rule.
Use LL CH01 for an individual or LL CH02 for a corporate member. Check the remaining formal designations before submission.
LL DE01 records the LLP-wide change between every member being designated and specified members being designated. It does not change a particular existing member’s designation by itself.
Designation carries additional statutory administration duties. It does not automatically change profit share, voting rights, management authority or PSC status.
Membership and significant control are related but different
A person is not automatically a PSC merely because they are an LLP member, and a PSC need not be a member. The supplied agreement, voting arrangements, management rights, economic rights and ownership chain may be needed to establish the effect of the event.

Role-specific and commencement-sensitive
An individual verifies once and receives a personal code, but Companies House uses that code to connect the verified identity to each relevant role. The way and timing in which the code is supplied depends on the role.

Verification reduces impersonation risk but does not prove admission authority, commercial suitability, control, governance or the truth of every supplied filing fact. It does not guarantee Companies House acceptance.
Evidence proportionate to the selected event
The evidence request depends on the you, event and filing. Coddan does not require every item in every case.
An overseas corporate case may additionally require a registry extract, constitutional documents, incumbency or signing evidence, an ownership chart and a certified translation or other documentary treatment where the particular route requires it. Those items are assessed, not automatically imposed.

A clearly defined filing sequence
This sequence makes the administrative route clearer and more straightforward because it separates the event, evidence, verification, control analysis and public notice. It does not reduce a disputed legal or control question to a software task.
One event, or a coordinated change bundle
The fixed fee covers one accepted event. Where one factual change creates several linked notices, Coddan assesses the complete route and quotes the bundle so the same included work is not charged twice.

When a fixed event service is not responsible
Use this route for multiple events, overseas corporate members, layered ownership, protected PSC information, late events, rejected filings or inconsistent historic records.
Disputed membership, expulsion, contested retirement, unclear authority, trusts, nominees and legally uncertain control require the responsible solicitor or adviser.
A one-member outcome, inadequate designated-member structure, insolvency concern, strike-off or dissolved LLP cannot be treated as an isolated routine notice.
A missed deadline does not remove the duty to notify. Coddan must use the true event date. An inaccurate historic filing may need a correction, replacement or second-filing route rather than a newly invented current event.
Filing a late or corrective notice does not automatically cancel a penalty, cure every prior default, resolve an identity-verification failure or prevent enforcement. A dissolved LLP must first use the appropriate restoration route.
Registration is not organisation
The filing records the instructed public particulars. It does not by itself settle admission or retirement rights, voting, management authority, capital, profit and loss allocation, valuation, exit payments, tax consequences or the LLP agreement.
Admission, retirement, voting, consent, expulsion and agreement changes belong to the LLP-agreement and professional route.
Standalone registered-office, member-address, SAIL and records-location changes belong to Change LLP addresses and records.
Accounts and the next confirmation statement remain separate obligations. LL CS01 does not replace event-driven filings.
Legal rights, individual tax, complex accounting, insolvency and foreign-law questions remain with the responsible professional.
Relevant operational evidence
